  • SmarterMail Upcoming Scheduled Maintenance

    This evening, Friday, June 9th at 10PM MDT we will be performing an update to the SmarterMail service on our primary SmarterMail server as well as applying Windows Updates. We expect this update to take no longer than 30 minutes. This update resolves several reported issues over the past week including…

    • Email printing not working in FireFox
    • Added Safari 9 support
    • Fixed a random failure of IMAP message retrieval
    • Missing attachments when reopening a draft message
    • Unable to edit the action of the Internal Blocked Senders content filter

    During this time, our incoming gateways will process and hold any incoming email and deliver them once we have completed the update.

  • Windows Control Panel Fixes – Let’s Encrypt

    Our developers have fixed an error that was causing some Let’s Encrypt certificate renewals to fail. Customers may have received an email stating that the automated renewal failed with an error that looked similar to the one below.

    A specified logon session does not exist. It may already have been terminated.

  • Mail Server Scheduled Maintenance and Upgrades

    This evening, Saturday, May 28th at 8PM MDT we will be performing a major upgrade to the primary SmarterMail system. Brand new hardware, including a new RAID array for storage of the mail data as well as an upgraded backup system.

    We will also be applying the latest build of SmarterMail 16 once we have migrated the SmarterMail configuration over to the new server. We expect this process to take no longer than 2 hours. 

     During this time, our incoming gateways will receive any incoming email and deliver them once we have completed the migration and the new system has fully started.

  • Windows Control Panel Fixes and Improvements

    Over the past few weeks we have updated our control panel system with several fixes and improvements. These improvements will make the system easier to use and improve the stability of the system.

    • Backup files larger than 2GB will no longer randomly fail
    • MySQL and SQL Server backups no longer fail when a zip output shares the same name as another task
    • MySQL and SQL Server backups complete faster
    • MySQL and SQL Server backups can now be properly restored through the control panel
    • Backup task now has a “Please Wait…” notification
    • The last scheduled task in a list can now be manually started / stopped successfully
    • Uploading large files through the File Manager no longer results is a 404 page

    We appreciate the continued feedback we are receiving to further improve our control panel services.

  • SmarterMail Emergency Maintenance

    We will be performing emergency maintenance on the SmarterMail service this evening at 10PM MDT. This is the first minor update to the SmarterMail 16 system. Includes about a dozen or so fixes and improvements, mainly, fixes the EWS connection issue that several customers are experiencing.

    The update will take about 30 minutes to complete.

  • SmarterMail Upgrade

    SmarterMail v16 is now released after many months in beta testing. We have been working with SmarterTools as well as many of our largest customers in testing and polishing of the beta and can say this is the most rock-solid SmarterMail released we have seen since we started with SmarterMail back at v1. This new build is a completely different SmarterMail than what our customers are used to seeing and using. A completely rewritten interface, many new features and more!     The upgrade will take place this evening at 10PM MDT. This is a major upgrade of the SmarterMail system, so our administration team is giving this upgrade 1 hour to make sure it is completed correctly.

    The upgrades that were scheduled for this weekend have been completed. Some extra server updates were performed along with the network upgrades. Please check the following maintenance list for more information:

    • PHP for Windows updated to 7.0.18 & 7.1.4
    • MySQL for Windows updated to 5.7.18
    • Windows Updates completed on all Windows servers
    • PHPMyAdmin for MySQL on Windows updated to 4.7.0

  • Scheduled Network Maintenance
