  • Control Panel VPS (Cloud Server) Power Options Updated and Fixed

    The VPS (Cloud Server) power options have been updated and the issues related to them have been resolved. Recently users have reported that when shutting down, rebooting or restart their VPS, the operation would hang and never complete resulting in the VPS remaining in the OFF state.

    We have also added some fail-safe modes to the “Shutdown” and “Reboot” options to eliminate hanging on non-responsive virtual machines. Thank you to those that have reported and assisted with this hard to track down issue!

  • SmarterMail Upcoming Emergency Maintenance

    This evening at 10PM MDT we will be performing an emergency update to the SmarterMail service on our primary SmarterMail server. This update fixes a critical IMAP issue that is causing “Invalid UUID” notices for a very small number of Outlook users. The issue appears to only affect older versions of Outlook, such as 2007 and 2010.

    Once the update has been installed, if you are receiving such errors with your Outlook installation, the IMAP account having the errors will need to be removed and then added back to Outlook in order to rebuild the local UUID values.

    During this time, our incoming gateways will process and hold any incoming email and deliver them once we have completed the update.

  • SQL Server 2016 Upgrade / Maintenance (Update #3 Final)

    This Saturday, July 22nd at 8PM MDT we will be performing and upgrade of our SQL Server system to SQL Server 2016. This has been a heavily requested update and we know many customers will be very pleased to see this announcement! We are allocating 2 hours for this upgrade to allow for any issues that may come up. During this time, any websites or external / 3rd party systems that rely on our SQL Server system will be unavailable. We highly recommend that all customers create and download a backup of their databases before this upgrade is performed.

    Please note that if you still use the 2014 version of the SQL Server Management Studio application, you will need to upgrade to the 2016 or newer release. Older versions of the application cannot connect to newer versions of SQL Server. We recommend that customers that rely on this application download the 17.1 release of SSMS by visiting this link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/ssms/download-sql-server-management-studio-ssms – This version will allow you to connect to SQL Server 2008 – 2017 and supports Windows 7 (SP1), 8, 8.1 and Windows 10 as well as Server 2008 R2, 2012 R2 and Server 2016 (64-bit versions only).

    Update (10:30PM MDT): We are still working to update the SQL Server system at this time. We should have the system online by midnight (12AM MDT).

    Update #2 (12:30AM MDT): SQL Server 2016 upgrade is nearly complete. Once done, we will swap the IPs between the servers and bring the new instance online.

    Update #3 Final: All updates and configurations have been now completed. We are on SQL Server 2016 SP1 (13.0.4435.0) version. Server is stable and will not be restarted again any time soon. Enjoy!

  • SmarterMail Emergency Maintenance – Rescheduled

    The previously announced SmarterMail maintenance scheduled for this evening at 10PM MDT has been rescheduled for tomorrow evening, June 7th at 10PM MDT. The build scheduled for release this evening has not yet been published. We were told the update would be released this evening, unfortunately it may have been held off for various reasons or the support tech was simply mistaken for the release this evening.

  • SmarterMail Upcoming Emergency Maintenance

    This evening, July 6th at 10PM MDT we will be performing an update to the SmarterMail service on our primary SmarterMail server. We expect this update to take no longer than 30 minutes. This is a general maintenance & bug fix release. Our System Admin team is applying this update earlier than usual to fix a rare issue where emails could be stalled or locked in the spool causing major delivery delays. So far, this bug has only affected a single user’s account.

    There are additional bug fixes and improvements in this build. However, at the time of this announcement the full changelogs are not yet available.

    During this time, our incoming gateways will process and hold any incoming email and deliver them once we have completed the update.

  • Windows Control Panel Fixes – Let’s Encrypt

    Our developers have fixed an error that was causing some Let’s Encrypt certificate renewals to fail. Customers may have received an email stating that the automated renewal failed with an error that looked similar to the one below.

    A specified logon session does not exist. It may already have been terminated.

    We appreciate the continued feedback we are receiving to further improve our control panel services.

  • Mail Server Scheduled Maintenance and Upgrades

    This evening, Saturday, May 28th at 8PM MDT we will be performing a major upgrade to the primary SmarterMail system. Brand new hardware, including a new RAID array for storage of the mail data as well as an upgraded backup system.

    We will also be applying the latest build of SmarterMail 16 once we have migrated the SmarterMail configuration over to the new server. We expect this process to take no longer than 2 hours. 

     During this time, our incoming gateways will receive any incoming email and deliver them once we have completed the migration and the new system has fully started.
