  • How do I get ACRE (plugin) to work with my TeamSpeak server?

    Once you’ve installed the ACRE plugin according to their provided instructions you may need to adjust the anti-flood / spam protection on your server to allow this plugin to work properly. The steps below have been confirmed to work correctly and cause no issues for the plugin or other users. Please note that your identity is required to have server admin privileges to manage these settings.

    1. Login to your TeamSpeak server (as a full server admin)
    2. Right-click on your TeamSpeak server instances name (the very first item in the channel list)
    3. Choose “Edit Virtual Server”
    4. Select the “Anti-Flood” tab
    5. Change the “Reduced Points Per Tick” option to 15
    6. Click “Apply” then “Ok”

    Your server should now run this plugin properly.

  • New Backup Solution for Hyper-V Customers

    We are pleased to announce that we have started a new backup solution for our Hyper-V VPS customers!

    Hyper-V Backup - Powered by Altaro

    This solution allows us to give an automated and secure backup solution to all of our Hyper-V VPS customers. In the unlikely and unfortunate event of a failure, we can restore customer virtual machines and get customer’s services back online and running. With this, we can also backup customer virtual machines without having to shut them down or interrupt normal operations, this includes non-Windows virtual machines as well! Altaro’s Hyper-V Backup puts limited strain on the server during backup operations allowing us to keep the server performing at its best and still give peace of mind to our users!

    We would like to state though that this is not a replacement for customer’s doing their own backups and we emphasize that customers keep their own backup solution running. Backup images created by this software can only be used with this software – customers who lose a file or accidentally delete an important document etc. are not covered by this solution. This solution is to guard against complete server failure, complete virtual machine failure and OS corruption / boot failures.

  • Hosted Email Package Changes

    Due to the recent announcement of the 2 new email specific scheduled tasks, we have enabled Scheduled Tasks support for all Email Hosting packages. All hosted email clients should now see the “Scheduled Tasks” icon in the “System” group. Here customers can create the new automated auto-responder scheduled tasks.

  • Windows Control Panel Feature Addition – New Scheduled Tasks

    The Windows control panel has now been updated to support 3 new scheduled tasks!

    The 3 new scheduled tasks available are…

    • Enable / Disable Mail account auto-responder
      • This is useful for customers who set and auto-responder daily for support, sales, billing and other types of accounts that have set operation hours. In order to alert customers that they are “closed” and will respond once they return etc. This now automates that so customers do not have to worry about logging in and out of the control panel to set this item every single day.
    • Execute PHP File
      • This allows customers to execute PHP files in a “cron job” type way. Where the PHP file are executed at the command line and not by the web server. This is useful for long running operations where the web server may timeout. Tasks such as executing WHMCS cron jobs, WordPress crons, and other types of PHP files may be executed by this.

  • MX01 Emergency Maintenance Restart

    We’ve issued a restart to the SmarterMail service due to monitoring errors and high latency / response times from the HTTP and POP3 services. While the server was still online, the high latency / response times from the services could cause issues to users within the webmail interface as well as utilizing the POP3 services.

    We are in constant contact with the SmarterMail development team at SmarterTools, we will pass this information and all diagnostic logs to them for review so that any issues can be resolved in a later build of SmarterMail.
