SmarterMail Upcoming Maintenance (Rescheduled)

This evening, at 10PM MST we will be performing an update to our primary SmarterMail server, build 16.3.6740. This is a minor bug fix release that addresses some issues reported by our customers. This update resolves an issue reported with Thunderbird for sending emails with non-ASCII characters as well as Calendar invites missing accept/decline options for Mac Mail. SmarterMail Upcoming Maintenance

This evening, at 10PM MST we will be performing an update to our primary SmarterMail server. This is a minor bug fix release that addresses some issues reported by our customers as well as addresses the previous postponed update.

  • ActiveSync SmartReply command only shows inline images instead of the whole message on iOS and MacOS clients
  • ActiveSync throws a NullReference exception when acquiring a device lock
  • If a RSS feed has no content, the page shows a blank page instead of the No Feeds graphic

SmarterMail Upcoming Maintenance

This evening, at 10PM MST we will be performing an update to our primary SmarterMail server. This is a minor bug fix release that addresses some issues reported by our customers as well as addresses the previous postponed update.

  • Appointments appear one day behind in web interface when set to Amsterdam timezone (UTC+0100)
  • Cannot see attendee availability for time zones that are not on the hour. (E.g, Marquesas Islands UTC-0930)
  • Encoding an unencoded subject could sometimes fail
  • IMAP is downloading the same message over and over
  • Link regex could linkify inside ‘a’ tags and garbles some emails from some senders
  • Non-8bit messages with 8bit content over EAS have incorrect encoding

SmarterMail Upcoming Maintenance

This evening, at 10PM MST we will be performing an update to the SmarterMail service on our primary SmarterMail server. This is a minor bug fix release that addresses some issues reported by our customers as well as addresses the previous postponed update.

  • Emails from Weather Underground have bad encoding when syncing to Outlook via EAS
  • Modifying the reminder time in Outlook with EWS ignores the new setting but sets the reminder to None
  • Unable to sync calendar appointments to iOS devices via CalDAV

SmarterMail Upcoming Maintenance (POSTPONED)

This Saturday, the 28th at 10PM MST we will be performing an update to the SmarterMail service on our primary SmarterMail server. This is a minor bug fix release that addresses some issues reported by our customers.

  • The Chat With textbox is now hidden when you go offline
  • All subsequent SMTP Auth attempts try to use CRAM-MD5 after first CRAM login
  • Auto-responder is not using the Reply-To header field, if specified
  • Certain CardDAV clients may lose phone number after syncing
  • Trying to attach the same file more than once prevents the message from being able to be sent

We have also resolved an issue where SmarterMail was stalling nightly between 6 – 8PM MDT. The issue was traced down to our backup software. Currently, the backup software has been disabled pending a review by the developers of the backup utility. We are also still working closely with SmarterTools to see if the exact cause can be narrowed down. Currently the system is stable and is not stalling.
