PHP 7.2 now available for use and testing!

We are very pleased to announce that PHP 7.2 is now available for all Windows web hosting packages and plans. PHP 7.2 will be the first programming language to add modern cryptography to its standard library!

While we do not know all changes that are planned for PHP 7.2, some of the deprecated features that we’ve seen in the RFC are discussed here https://laravel-news.com/php-7-2-deprecations. Our technical team will be keeping an eye on PHP 7.2 and bring news as more changes come to light.

We are adopting this new release so that users who rely on PHP for their application development can test their application to aid in future-proofing their code or just testing out new language features and syntax candy. Since this is a beta release, support for 3rd party extensions such as Ioncube, Zend Guard and Phalcon are not available. As always, this is a non-production version of PHP, so please take care when using this build of PHP with any websites!

TS01-UT TeamSpeak Outage (Resolved)

Our TS01-UT TeamSpeak server is currently experiencing an unexpected outage. We are working with our upstream provider to find the cause is and resolve it. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this.

  • Download All attachments results in a 404 page
  • User account calendar events are constantly being reindexed

During this time, our incoming gateways will process and hold any incoming email and deliver them once we have completed the update.

Windows Control Panel Fixes – Let’s Encrypt

Our developers have fixed an error that was causing some Let’s Encrypt certificate renewals to fail. Customers may have received an email stating that the automated renewal failed with an error that looked similar to the one below.

A specified logon session does not exist. It may already have been terminated.

We appreciate the continued feedback we are receiving to further improve our control panel services.

SmarterMail 16 minimum browser requirements

SmarterMail v16 has a brand new web interface that uses the latest in web technologies, as a result needs a browser that is capable of understanding and using these technologies to have a great user experience.

Mail Server Scheduled Maintenance and Upgrades

This evening, Saturday, May 28th at 8PM MDT we will be performing a major upgrade to the primary SmarterMail system. Brand new hardware, including a new RAID array for storage of the mail data as well as an upgraded backup system.

We will also be applying the latest build of SmarterMail 16 once we have migrated the SmarterMail configuration over to the new server. We expect this process to take no longer than 2 hours. 

 During this time, our incoming gateways will receive any incoming email and deliver them once we have completed the migration and the new system has fully started.

Windows Control Panel Fixes and Improvements

Over the past few weeks we have updated our control panel system with several fixes and improvements. These improvements will make the system easier to use and improve the stability of the system.

  • Backup files larger than 2GB will no longer randomly fail
  • MySQL and SQL Server backups no longer fail when a zip output shares the same name as another task
  • MySQL and SQL Server backups complete faster
  • MySQL and SQL Server backups can now be properly restored through the control panel
  • Backup task now has a “Please Wait…” notification
  • The last scheduled task in a list can now be manually started / stopped successfully
  • Uploading large files through the File Manager no longer results is a 404 page

SmarterMail Emergency Maintenance

We will be performing emergency maintenance on the SmarterMail service this evening at 10PM MDT. This is the first minor update to the SmarterMail 16 system. Includes about a dozen or so fixes and improvements, mainly, fixes the EWS connection issue that several customers are experiencing.

The update will take about 30 minutes to complete.
