Coming Soon – SmarterMail 16

We are very pleased to announce that SmarterMail v16 is just around the corner! Not weeks away… DAYS!!! SmarterMail v16 has been rewritten from the ground up, given a completely fresh and redesigned interface and our favorite feature so far! The ability to have live meetings online using chat as well as video, even a live drawing board, share files and more!

SmarterMail v16 has a brand new fully API driven design that can allow developers access to all functions of SmarterMail, even the ability to write full features desktop and mobile clients around the SmarterMail API!

Past major upgrades have been applied usually pretty quickly by our systems admin team, however, with this being a major rewrite of the SmarterMail code base, we may sit the launch out for a few minor releases just to make sure all issues are caught by early adopters. The upgrade will depend though on reports that we see on their forums as well as speaking to their support to decide how others upgrades and launches are going.

Rest assured though, ASPnix will be upgrading to the latest and greatest of SmarterMail very soon!

Scheduled Power Maintenance

We will be performing maintenance and replacements on several of our PDUs (power distribution units) at our Denver, Colorado facility this Saturday, April 22nd between 8PM and 10PM MDT. This will cause network and service interruption for many servers and services.

What do error code(s) 81703 and 91577 mean? How do I fix these errors?

ERROR_1 => Code: 91577 Message: Merchant account does not support payment instrument.
ERROR_2 => Code: 81703 Message: Credit card type is not accepted by this merchant account.

Seeing an error similar to the ones shown above means that your WHMCS system is attempting to process a card type that is not accepted by your Braintree account. For example, a customer pays with an AMEX card, but your Braintree account only allows VISA and Discover.

To fix this, you will need to contact Braintree to discuss adding other card types to your account. You should also only select the card types allowed by your Braintree account in your WHMCS installation’s “Invoice” tab under the “General Settings” option. The line item is titled “Accepted Credit Card Types”.

Weekend Maintenance Completed

The upgrades that were scheduled for this weekend have been completed. Some extra server updates were performed along with the network upgrades. Please check the following maintenance list for more information:

  • Core routers upgraded to latest firmware / OS
  • Core switches upgraded to latest firmware / OS
  • PHP for Windows updated to 7.0.18 & 7.1.4
  • MySQL for Windows updated to 5.7.18
  • Windows Updates completed on all Windows servers
  • PHPMyAdmin for MySQL on Windows updated to 4.7.0

We appreciate your patience and understanding this past weekend while we completed the required network maintenance and upgrades.

Scheduled Network Maintenance

We will be performing maintenance on our core router(s) as well as our core switches at our Denver, Colorado facility this evening (April, 13th) as well as tomorrow evening (April, 14th) between 8PM and 10PM MDT. There could be brief interruptions in service during these times as we work to upgrade firmware and operating systems as well as apply some needed configuration changes.

This will affect all services operating within our Denver, Colorado facility.

Coinbase error – “invalid signature”

Coinbase Gateway Error - Response: invalid signature

This error means that the API keys in the WHMCS gateway settings for the Coinbase module are not valid or are not generated for Coinbase’s updated API (v2). Please regenerate the keys making sure that you create the HMAC keys for API v2 and you select the correct permissions as shown in the article linked below.
