    No comments October 29th, 2015

During this maintenance period we will be adding additional RAM into the SQL Server farm as well as upgrading the storage to SSD. • Free Minecraft Hosting Trial

We are very pleased to announce our upcoming Minecraft server hosting plans and packages! We’ve been asked this question thousands of times… “When will ASPnix provide game server hosting?”. The most popular game server request is now here! Well… Almost. We are opening up a free 30-day period to all ASPnix customers as well as anyone else who’d like to try out and test our Minecraft hosting platform! You can signup now and try a Minecraft server 100% free for 30 days, with 512MB of RAM allowing your server to host up to 10 friends and family members!

Why are we offering this? Can’t we test our own servers? Sure. We could, but we’d prefer to open this up to more customers and users than we here can throw at our servers. We need to stress our servers and network to find any kinks or issues before we fully launch our new services. We’d also like feature requests, as well as additional training to our Minecraft support guys, work out any bugs or issues with our control panel and tweak the servers while they are under load.

If you are interested, click here https://billing.aspnix.com/cart.php?a=add&pid=269 and use promo code MC30FREE during checkout. Please note that this is a trial / test / beta-like period. There are no uptime guarantees, no backups and a limited level of support. If you experience any issues, please contact our support department so all issues can be logged and addressed.

Server capacity at this time is limited as this is a trial / test period, so hurry and signup to get your server! We will also be offering a 20% discount to those that help test our new platform once the test period is over and wish to keep their server.

If you have any questions, concerns or comments, please let us know! To everyone that signs up, happy Minecrafting!!!

  • TeamSpeak Minimum Client Version Changes

    No comments October 10th, 2015

We’ve been notified by the TeamSpeak developers of a security threat that may affect our servers. Please review the announcement below…

TeamSpeak has just released a important security update, TeamSpeak 3 Client 3.0.18.1, which addresses a RFI (Remote File Inclusion) vulnerability.
We strongly recommend that all TeamSpeak host providers change the minimum client version for desktop clients required to connect to the server.

All customers will be required to upgrade their local TeamSpeak clients to v3.0.18.1. We will be making this adjustment within the next few hours for all TeamSpeak servers. Please note that this will impact mobile clients, at this time TeamSpeak does not have an update for these clients, but will very soon.

For more information, please review their announcement here http://forum.teamspeak.com/showthread.php/120755-SECURITY-UPDATE-TeamSpeak-3-Client-3-0-18-1-is-Available?p=420927

  • Upcoming Data-Center Electrical Maintenance

    3 comments October 3rd, 2015

Level 3 has notified us of upcoming emergency maintenance to the electrical system that provides AC and DC power to our cabinets. The upgrade to the electrical system will allow larger capacity power circuits and improve the stability of the power being delivered to our cabinets.

We will be shutting down our servers at 5PM MDT to allow ample time for the servers to fully shutdown before we disconnect our APC power control units from Level 3’s power grid. We will have 2 technicians who will remain in the data-center until they are given the all-clear by the electricians to restore power to our cabinets and start bringing the servers back online.

This emergency announcement comes at a great time as our network is expanding rapidly with the growth of our cloud-based hosting platform.

    Scheduled Date: 10-03-2015
    Scheduled Time:
    11:00 PM – 1:00 AM GMT
    Max Outage Duration: 2 Hours

Level 3 has allocated a 2 hour window to complete this however they are confident the maintenance should take no longer than 1 hour. During this time our entire Denver, Colorado location will be offline. This includes all shared hosting, email hosting, VPS, dedicated servers and TeamSpeak. Our routers, switches, servers and all other equipment within our cabinets will be fully powered down. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support department.

    Thank you for choosing ASPnix!
