  • SmarterMail Upcoming Maintenance

    This evening, Friday the 16th at 10PM MST we will be performing an update to the SmarterMail service on our primary SmarterMail server as well as some hardware adjustments to the external SAN storage system.

    • Emails without a recipient in the message’s header were not delivered
    • SmarterMail is accepting some SMTP recipients that are invalid.

    During this time, our incoming gateways will process and hold any incoming email and deliver them once we have completed the update.

  • SmarterMail Upcoming Maintenance

    This evening, Friday the 9th at 10PM MST we will be performing an update to the SmarterMail service on our primary SmarterMail server. This update addresses a few interface issues as well as some reported bugs. This update also addresses some of the threading and stalling issues we’ve experienced due to heavy amounts of logging.  This build should be the final update that addresses all the performance issues, lockups, crashes etc. that we have been experiencing over the past few weeks.

    • Right-to-Left language improvements throughout the interface
    • An issue between Remember Me and impersonation which caused various issues on subsequent logins
    • A potential conflict shows on calendar appointments from time to time, even though there are no conflicts
    • Cannot accept a meeting change on iOS devices synced via EAS
    • Creating a new appointment in Outlook 2016 for Mac via EWS shows the creator as the solo attendee in web interface

    During this time, our incoming gateways will process and hold any incoming email and deliver them once we have completed the update.

    This evening, Friday the 23rd at 10PM MST we will be performing an update to the SmarterMail service on our primary SmarterMail server. The issue addresses several reported issues, 1 issue that is critical (which caused massive delivery delays). Below are some of the resolved issues that have been reported by our customers…

    • CRITICAL – The queues for SpamCheck, LocalDelivery and RemoteDelivery are now properly asynchronous.
    • ActiveSync encoding issue with plain text messages containing non-ASCII characters and no specified content transfer encoding.
    • Appointments created in Outlook 2016 for Mac (EWS) or on Android device via EAS cannot be adjusted in web interface.
    • CalDAV now fires accepted notifications for events.
    • Cannot send or receive emails with emoji characters.
    • EWS sends a calendar updated email when the request from the client specified not to send an email.
    • Flagging a message in web interface does not sync to ActiveSync devices.
    • Messages with attachments that do not have a CID are not displayed correctly in web interface.

    This evening, Friday the 9th at 10PM MST we will be performing an update to the SmarterMail service on our primary SmarterMail server. This update closes out all the bug and issue reports that we had open with SmarterTools!

    • Domain’s DKIM setting shows enabled when it is disabled
    • Outlook no longer displays 550 errors when sending a read receipt
    • Added some missing translations
    • Importing a contact from a VCF file does not properly identify potential duplications

    Many additional non-customer facing fixes that improve the performance and stability of SmarterMail.

    • An invalid message attachment filename causes a “This message does not exist” message in web interface.
    • Changing the interface language from the login page modifies the language for other accounts logged in on the same browser
    • Emails containing very large recipient lists were slowing down the messages area
    • In Firefox choosing the ”Not Now” browser notification permission does not redirect from the login page
    • Mail attachments with invalid characters were causing the email not to load
    • Added a progress bar for Mark as Read / Unread message actions
    • Unable to sync calendars in Mac calendar app when using EWS

    • Resolves an issue that caused a crash Tuesday morning
    • Clicking on a new item (email, calendar, task, etc.) would randomly logout a user from web mail
    • Some cases where parsing an email address was failing to parse correctly in SMTP
    • When deleting a folder sometimes another folder is removed from the folder list, requiring a refresh to bring the folder back
    • Subfolders would get created with a parent folder being lowercase causing odd behaviors for certain protocols
    • Updated German, Spanish, and Swedish translation files

    • Categories are not synced over to Outlook contacts, tasks or notes in EWS
    • Changing a task’s priority in Outlook synced via EWS does not update in web mail
    • Marking a task completed in Outlook synced via EWS does not update in web mail
    • Syncing a contact with notes on an EWS client does not sync down to the server
    • Low temp does not show in calendar week view in dark theme
    • Moving emails to and from a public shared folder in eM Client is throwing a DBNull error
    • MAIL FROM is using a blank sending address sometimes
    • Unsubscribing to a public folder in EWS crashes Outlook
