  • TS01-GA Data Center Migration

    No comments September 9th, 2016 278

We will be migrating our TS01-GA TeamSpeak services to another data-center located in Atlanta. The current host will remain online while we synchronize the 2 servers. Once completed, we will shutdown the old host and bring up the new host. There will be a delay in connecting to the new server (up to 1 hour) for DNS propagation to complete since the IP address of the host will change.

The new IP of the server is 23.226.236.22. Moving away from our previous data-center will stop the outages related to the data-center routers being constantly under DDOS attacks and other issues related to filtering, high latency, packet loss etc.

We’d like to thank everyone for their patience during this time while we work to improve our TeamSpeak services in Atlanta.

    Thank you for choosing ASPnix!

UPDATE: The migration has completed. We are seeing improved latency times from various test locations, some locations as much as 15ms less!

  • Denver Colorado Outrage / Service Interruption

    No comments April 17th, 2016 591

This evening at 4:08PM MDT an electrical issue with one of our cabinets power delivery units (PDU) caused a brief interruption or all servers and services in our Colorado data-center. Technicians were dispatched, however upon arrival were unable to identify any issues as services had resumed normal.

Another electrical issue at approximately 5:25PM MDT caused a major electrical fault in the cabinet that handles all network communications for our network. The fault triggered the data-center power delivery systems to cut power to the cabinet resulting in a full outage of our Colorado location. The technician who responded found the power delivery unit had fully failed. Once the unit was removed, power was restored to the cabinet.

The total outage time was about 58 minutes between the 2 interruptions.

After contacting Level 3’s electricians and discussing options to better handle these unfortunate events in the future, we will be purchasing additional electrical equipment to have better fault tolerance for these issues in the future.

We apologize for any inconvenience during this time. If there are any questions or concerns, please open a support ticket the technical support department for your service.

  • Benefits of using VPS for the Office

    No comments February 19th, 2016 555

Windows VPS works as an “office in the cloud,” with its own operating system, disc space, and bandwidth. It is a middle point between shared hosting and dedicated hosting, useful for sites that are not quite ready for dedicated hosting, but have out-grown shared hosting.  It grants users far more control over their environment than is available with shared hosting. This flexibility allows users to decide which resources are currently necessary and add more as their company or needs grow.

Microsoft-Hyper-V-LogoWith a VPS, your virtual desktop will be nearly identical to your actual computer’s desktop. You can choose the applications to upload, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, accounting programs, or (if the provider offers Virtual Graphic Cards) even Adobe Photoshop and the like.

ERP or CRM systems can also be installed on VPS. Having these systems available from more than just at the office helps out employees who work from home or travel often, granting them access to all the services that might make their load smoother. Applications that have to run 24/7 can be moved to VPS to ensure the program runs continually, smoothly, and keeps your company doing the same.

Moving your website to VPS can offer huge performance benefits, particularly for websites hosted on a shared platform or those coded in ASP or .NET. Additionally installing your mail client on VPS is an extra layer of protection and assurance that your resources are only available to your website and email and not shared with anyone else on the shared hosting package.

Using VPS saves money, as it allows companies to downgrade their computers and run more complex systems from VPS, instead of investing in top-grade computers for every employee in order to run those systems. VPS is also less expensive than a physical server running a full dedicated plan.

VPS provides reliability and stability. With shared hosting, you run the risk of another website on the same server overloading and affecting your site’s performance. VPS saves your worrying about that, particularly in more professional environments.

No matter the speed of the remote desktop and server, VPS keeps your internet running at top speeds.

Check out the options we offer!

  • The Benefits of Minecraft Game Server Hosting

    No comments February 9th, 2016 575

There are many benefits of renting a server to play Minecraft on instead of hosting it independently on your own computer. The game process takes up a significant amount of space on RAM, CPU, and bandwidth, not to mention the strain that multiple players will have on the speed of your internet connection. Odds are you will end up lagging and spending your time frustrated instead of enjoying the game with your friends.

minecraft-blockA Minecraft hosting server is built specifically to maintain that high activity, with fast internet connections and uptime improvements. This is a much less stressful option in comparison to owning your own Minecraft server host, which would require an extensive understanding of networking computers as well as having to leave your host computer turned on and connected to the internet at all times – which can lead to overheating and other complications.

Minecraft hosting servers are specifically built to support smooth gameplay and make your experience headache free.

Our game servers are affordable and have a 14 day money-back guarantee. All our servers have as standard features SSD-based RAID storage, multicraft Control Panel, unlimited storage, no overselling, unlimited slots and more!

While there is no limit on the amount of players who can join your server, we offer recommendations for the optimal number of members for each increment of RAM.  Each of these recommendations has been tested internally to ascertain the best performance level to support that amount of players.

We offer many benefits and options for optimizing your gaming experience.  The bottom line is that our Minecraft hosting server gives you a lag-free, headache-free, fast, and fun gameplay with your friends!

  • TS01-GA Continued Outage (Resolved)

    No comments January 1st, 2016 752

Currently the data-center that hosts our TeamSpeak services in Atlanta, Georgia is experiencing a very large scale DDOS attack. Their network engineers have been working around the clock to attempt to mitigate the attack, but with slow results. We’ve been informed that they are slowly restoring full network capacity, but they are unable to provide an ETA on the restoration our nodes or servers.

We’d like to thank everyone for their continued patience as this issue is being addressed.

    Thank you for choosing ASPnix!

Update – 11:26AM: Engineers are still working to resolve the issue. We had about a 2 hour window where the services in our Atlanta location worked perfectly before the attackers started another massive attack with a new vector.

  • EV SSL Certification Complete – ASPnix now secured with EV SSL Certificates!

    No comments November 4th, 2015 1001

We are very pleased to announce that our root website (www.aspnix.com) and our billing system (billing.aspnix.com) are now secured with a Comodo Extended Validation SSL certificate! This means that you will now see the standard “green bar” or the green label next to the address bar showing the green lock as well as our company name (Anaxa LLC).

    aspnix-evssl

    billing.aspnix-evssl

By installing an EV SSL Certificate we are establishing a legal, physical and operational existence of ASPnix – Anaxa, LLC, this also verifies our business operational license and many other factors that is required to buy, install and verify an EV SSL vs. the standard “quick-and-easy” SSL certificate.

What exactly is an EV SSL certificate? An EV SSL (or Extended Validation) SSL certificate goes beyond the standard certificate by verifying the domain / domain owner, but also verifying the business’s license, address, phone number, contact email address, members of the company and their respective positions, as well as 3rd party validation through companies like Dun & Bradstreet. All this is done manually by the Certificate Authority vs. the standard SSL verification which is all automated through email and phone.

We’ve also gone through the EV SSL rules and requirements to build trust with our existing customers as well as build up a relationship with new customers. Showing a normal SSL secured lock icon is great, but going a step further and taking the time (and money) to buy, verify and complete the installation of an EV SSL certificate speaks volumes for a company. Many of the world’s most well-known companies such as PayPal, eBay, J.P. Morgan Chase and many other large financial institutions use EV SSL certificates to prove their website’s identity to customers as well as prevent phishing and just build trust. We are proud to be one of the few hosting providers to offer this to our customers!

Other ASPnix websites such as chat.aspnix.com, panel.aspnix.com and tspanel.aspnix.com will continue to use the standard wildcard SSL certificates, so do not be alarmed to not see the green bar. We felt it was only required to secure our main website and obviously our billing system where financial transactions occur.

We hope this change is welcomed by everyone and makes you feel more secure with ASPnix knowing that we’ve taken SSL and security seriously and taken our SSL validation and verification to the next level.

As always, Thank you for choosing ASPnix as your hosting provider!
