EV SSL Certification Complete – ASPnix now secured with EV SSL Certificates!

We are very pleased to announce that our root website (www.aspnix.com) and our billing system (billing.aspnix.com) are now secured with a Comodo Extended Validation SSL certificate! This means that you will now see the standard “green bar” or the green label next to the address bar showing the green lock as well as our company name (Anaxa LLC).

By installing an EV SSL Certificate we are establishing a legal, physical and operational existence of ASPnix – Anaxa, LLC, this also verifies our business operational license and many other factors that is required to buy, install and verify an EV SSL vs. the standard “quick-and-easy” SSL certificate.

What exactly is an EV SSL certificate? An EV SSL (or Extended Validation) SSL certificate goes beyond the standard certificate by verifying the domain / domain owner, but also verifying the business’s license, address, phone number, contact email address, members of the company and their respective positions, as well as 3rd party validation through companies like Dun & Bradstreet. All this is done manually by the Certificate Authority vs. the standard SSL verification which is all automated through email and phone.

We’ve also gone through the EV SSL rules and requirements to build trust with our existing customers as well as build up a relationship with new customers. Showing a normal SSL secured lock icon is great, but going a step further and taking the time (and money) to buy, verify and complete the installation of an EV SSL certificate speaks volumes for a company. Many of the world’s most well-known companies such as PayPal, eBay, J.P. Morgan Chase and many other large financial institutions use EV SSL certificates to prove their website’s identity to customers as well as prevent phishing and just build trust. We are proud to be one of the few hosting providers to offer this to our customers!

Other ASPnix websites such as chat.aspnix.com, panel.aspnix.com and tspanel.aspnix.com will continue to use the standard wildcard SSL certificates, so do not be alarmed to not see the green bar. We felt it was only required to secure our main website and obviously our billing system where financial transactions occur.

We hope this change is welcomed by everyone and makes you feel more secure with ASPnix knowing that we’ve taken SSL and security seriously and taken our SSL validation and verification to the next level.

As always, Thank you for choosing ASPnix as your hosting provider!
