Beginning around 10:45PM MST our US network suffered an outage. This outage affected all servers and services within our Denver, Colorado location. The outage was in and out for approximately 1 hour, our technicians were able to successfully trace and find the cause of the outage. A client’s VPS had SNMP installed, but poorly configured and was sending and responding to SNMP Amplification attacks. The VPS’s network interface was disabled and SNMP was disabled, we’ve contacted this customer and will work with them on securing their SNMP services.
